The way I generally see it expressed is “six to eight weeks, possibly longer,” to cover just such cases as yours. I have seen posts saying that it took the poster a year to become fully fat-adapted. Conversely, I have also seen posts in which people feel they are fat-adapted after only two or three weeks. Too bad there’s not an objective measurement we can use.

While I am not grazing, I do sometimes still eat three times a day. But others report that they knew they were fat adapted when they started forgetting to eat. That has not happened to me after 11 months, thus I am unsure to what extent I am fat adapted.

You are also have much less body fat than most people here. So maybe you are fat adapted, but your body isn’t so keen to use up the stores if it doesn’t have to.

I’ll buy that.

They ate the whole animal including all the offal as we call it here - they ate the kidneys, liver, heart etc. Offal is full of minerals.
The plants they ate grew on mineral rich soil and so were full of minerals. Today plants grow in mineral depleted soil - and so these vegetables are low in minerals.
So our ancestors didn’t need to supplement their diet - they did have to find, catch or grow their grub though!
