Also, I’ve been noticing my feet tingling now that im on the diet. What should i be looking at?
Keto rash? Pls help
This is usually related to electrolytes. Try some ketoade (search this forum for recipes). It contains sodium, potassium, and magnesium. I get tingling limbs and a little shot of electrolytes solves the problem every time.
That is a good sign. A white tongue is an indication of excess yeast in the body that could cause rash like symptoms as the yeast dies off as a result of reduced carbs.
Thanks. I heard tea tree oil helps. Or acv? Do you know how to dilute them or use them? When i scratch them they grow bigger and my face looks like its swollen after.
Your itchy skin does not look like my itchy skin but here’s what I did that helped.
After being diagnosed with seborrhea by two different dermatology practices I was ready to find something that worked better than their prescriptions. (Seborrhea/psoriasis/eczema seem to mean the same to a dermatologist.) Also one of them mentioned that behind the ears, inside the ears are both classic locations for itchy skin.
When I watched Dr. Berg’s video called Is your Eczema Coming from Salicylate Sensitivity?
I wrote down his list and realized that when I went keto I also upped my coffee intake quite a lot. Stopping the coffee (most days) has cleared up most of the spots. The longer they have been present, the longer it takes to clear up.
I hope you find something to work for you, it’s miserable to itch all the time.
It was my first time making BUlletproof coffee today but I am not a coffee drinker. Just wanted to try it. Anyways, I bought tee trea oil yesterday and did a spot treatment on 5 of the major bumps . I didn’t do my entire face so I can determine if it will help the itching. Surprisingly, those 5 spots did not itch at all. The other ones did! Today, the one behind my ear itched so i did spot treatment again and it stopped the itching. I will dilute the oil with water and do my entire face tonight. As long as they don’t itch the bumps doesn’t grow big. Hopefully they will completely fade soon.
I hope that worked for you! Tea Tree oil is powerful stuff and will probably clear your sinuses as well!
Coffee was one of about two dozen things to watch out for. I didn’t like to put the whole list here, but it’s easy to find on that video, stop it and copy out the list.
I wonder if we have any tea tree oil???
Unfortunately, TTO didn’t really clear it. They’re still there. I still put it because I think it helps with the redness and itching. But they’re not completely gone.
Do you have digestive issues? Constipation or diarrhea? Don’t have to answer here but I’ve seen quite a lot of reference to digestive issues showing up as itching and/or rashes. I had Ted itchy patches of skin until I figured out I wasn’t producing enough stomach acid and wasn’t digesting food properly.
Well, it could be caused by a number of things. Keto rash itself is still an unexplained phenomena though, some people theorize it can be caused by toxic substances released from fat stores.
Are you eating anything you didn’t eat pre keto? Some foods like nuts, eggs, dairy, artificial sweeteners are prone to allergic reactions in people sensitive to them.
Have you changed anything that might touch your face? New body products like lotions or perfumes, facial products, hair products, face towels, shower products, linens, makeup, makeup brushes.
If you use makeup, are your brushes clean and sanitary? Brushes should be cleaned between each use, though, most don’t do it.
Are you prone to breaking out with similar spots when your hormones change? Example times would be during your menstrual cycle, when taking a birth control product, or during puberty. Keto does effect hormones and usually helps rebalance them.
Are the spots bug bites? Do they contain fluid?
As you see, there are soooo many things that can cause a reaction like this. If these spots don’t seem to be actual zits, you can stop with the TTO as it may aggravate the condition. Lavender essential oil is good for redness, inflammation, and itching and can be used undiluted as a spot treatment. Try not to scratch or pick the spots or aggravate them with scrubbing or facial products. You can also try an OTC allergy pill like Equate 24 hour non drowsy. If it’s a histamine response, this can help the symptoms clear up.
This may be Candida (yeast) die off from not getting enough sugar/carbs. In my case I get a rash over my entire belly, when I take a hot bath. A naturopath would know what I’m suggesting is the problem. A cleanse may help. It helped me a few years ago. There are many treatments for Candida, but I don’t know which one is best. Restoring gut health is ideal. I am currently researching this topic myself. I may send you a personal message. I have to history of these rashes. Dermatology was NO help. It only made my health much worse.
Google Candida.
The only thing I could think of was dairy. Im Asian and i didnt grow up eating lots of dairy even on my adult years. So i cut that off and they’re still there. I’ve been increasing my carb intake to almost 50 G and getting carbs from greens and strawberries and almonds. I usually don’t put anything on my face and it was clear before this diet. I just ordered a nurritional yeast to see if that will help. I’ve seen a decrease in appearance by using the TTr oil and acv toner but obviously they’re not 100% gone. Mine is not as bad as the other people’s rash but It just frustrates me considering my face was clear before.
My spots are like bug bites. Hey dont contain any fluid. Just red, itchy bumps.
How do you do a cleanse?
Health food stores have a variety of cleanses. My rash over a third of my body and face had persisted 24/7 for months. The Dermatologist just kept giving me Prednisone, which only suppressed the symptoms. As soon as the round of Pred ended the rash returned. One day on an intuitive whim I bought a cleanse. This I think it was by Irwin Naturals. It was easy to use with clear directions. Within two or three days my face and body rash had vanished. I was stunned.
As I was drifting off to sleep last night, I remembered reading about other imbalances that overwhelm the liver and cause these rashes. It’s written by an internationally renowned Naturopath. I will have to dig around for that book. It’s fascinating. I know what you’re going through. I’ve been there.
If a cleanse does the healing, that would be awesome.
Hope you find relief soon.
Thank you for the reply. I found two cleanse by Irwin naturals. There’s a daily cleanse and then cleanse with probiotics. Which one did you use? Thanks
It’s been at least five years since I used their cleanse. They have likely improved their products by now. If it were me, I’d go with the one with probiotics. It may be stronger. Also, the store manager may have advice for your acute needs.
That would be awesome if a powerful cleanse product works for you as well as it did for me.
Sending healing thoughts your way.
Thank you. I’ll go to my Natural Grocers this weekend to find a liver cleanse. Hopefully they’ll have that brand you used.
You could ask the nutrition manager for her/his advice on cleanses. There may be an even better cleanse than Irwin Naturals. It’s worth getting a second opinion.
Cleanses are amazing. Let us know how it turns out.
