"Keto Rash" GONE! (cue Sucralose)

#1

I have had a bad very itchy rash since beginning Keto eleven months ago. Last month, it progressed to huge hives about 2 inches in diameter! Over the months, I had isolated/eliminated every possible culprit I could think of: dairy, nuts, eggs, etc., one at a time, always with no results. When the mega hives hit, I turned to the one thing I hadn’t thought of and didn’t think I could live without: Splenda (Sucralose). Two days later and for the last four weeks, I have been rash free!! Oh, the sweet sweet relief.
Just wondering how many others might have started using Splenda at the outset of the keto diet and had the same allergic reaction, interpreting it to be the infamous “Keto Rash”!

I had the Keto rash pretty bad in the beginning, especially in areas that held sweat. Just rode it out and after about 10 weeks it went away and has not returned in over 6 months. I understood it to be caused by the higher level of acetone excretion. I guess you get used to that after a while?

I have been using Splenda for twenty years without a problem in a low carbohydrate diet. Last year after going more keto than low carbohydrate, I got a face rash. I have quit sucralose and looks looks like it is going away. Thanks for your post.
