Turned on the tv this afternoon and was surprised that our local PBS was featuring a 90-minute presentation on Keto. They are having one of their like quarterly membership drives, so that is when they pull out the heavy hitters that pique the most interest. I came in with only about half and hour left and could only watch for fifteen minutes before I had to turn it off. I am so pi$$ed right now, I am going to contact PBS tomorrow and give them a piece of my mind.
The presentation was by Dr. Josh Axe. I donât know if he is an MD or a Ph.D., however, I thought he was a complete d.b. and snake oil salesman. He was just regurgitating all of the principles of keto that we know from the true experts like Dr. Eenfeldt, Dr. Fung, Gary Taubes, etc., and presenting them as if they were his own, i.e., âwith my program,â âfollowing my program,â etc. Plus, if you are a contributor to PBS at the $180 level, you get all kinds of âprizes,â in the form of recipe books, other books, a stupid thermos, etc. I am so disappointed and disgusted with PBS right now, I could spit. I have no idea where they found this guy, but obviously, there are so many other more qualified subject matter experts (MDâs and people who have devoted a good portion of their lives to studying the science behind keto) that arenât hawking a thing - itâs all free and available to anyone who wants to investigate.
