Keto on the Road

(G. Andrew Duthie) #1

Travelling to Atlanta for a couple of days. I thought about fasting, but decided to drop by the local Publix, which is just around the corner from my hotel.

Scored a pack of pepperoni panino fingers (pepperoni-wrapped smoked mozzarella), a bag of pork rinds, a wedge of Bruschetta Monterey Jack cheese (yummy), and a 4-pack of guacamole. With 4 beverages, it came to less than $25, and will definitely make for at least 2 or 3 meals.

Who says you can’t Keto on the Road?

You are the man.

I have a road trip in two weeks. I will swing by a grocery, buy a styro cooler, and buy some goodies.

I’m fortunate in that my hotel room has a mini-fridge…that helps with stuff like cheeses and such. But the cooler is a good idea, too.

Life ain’t so bad in the South! And I have a newly opened Publix right around the corner from me, I can ride my scooter over if I desire. We love the Boar’s Head brand meats and cheeses in the deli! My weakness is the London Broil.

Me too! The Boar’s Head smoked Gouda is my keto kryptonite (I can’t seem to stop eating it) and I love their sandwich style pepperoni from the deli sliced very thin.

I also love their OvenGold Roasted Turkey Breast. And I like that they aren’t stingy and will let you sample anything that you want to try.

We have a fabric cooler that can fold and fit neatly in our luggage, for those hotel rooms that don’t have a mini fridge.
