Hi there
I have Hashimoto since 2004 on levothyroxyne my last lab test is fine TSH T4 T3 are all within range. Except for my iron being too low and therefore beeing anemic all my numbers are fine. The anemia is being taken care of. I have been doing Keto for 2 months now, counting carbs to less than 20g, eating whole food only, no dairy, no gluten and also intermittent fasting (8pm-12pm) and I am so frustrated because I haven’t lost 1g. Forgot to mention that I am in ketosis. I feel tired and have no energy. Wondering if Keto if for hashimoto after all…
Keto on Hashimoto / no weight loss
Hi Vero_Neek.
I can’t offer major insight on this topic but I can offer you a really good link to a Dr. Jocker’s article on Hypothyroidism. There’s also some discussion threads on this topic if you search for hypthyroidism or Hashimoto’s using the eyeglass in the top right corner of your screen.
To make a long long story short if I had Hashimotos or any kind of thyroid condition preventing me from burning off body fat, the first thing I would do is start doing bone broth fasting, supplement with artichoke extract, take soil based probiotics and do more of a leptin reset diet.
Dr Ken Berry Md has some great Youtube videos on Thyroid and specifically Hashimoto since his wife Niesha does have Hashimoto and does well on Keto for years now. Go to youtube videos and search Ken Berry md you will see lost of videos. Most are short and really easy to understand. Good luck with it.
