The current guidelines says not to give honey to children 2 and under. It is because of a botulism risk. (Not sure I spelled botulism correctly. Sorry.)

Here it is 1 year, basically you need a functional digestive system. I don’t know why you would give a baby anything other than mother’s milk but then again I am not a Mom.

I nursed all my 5 kids for 2+ years each, but introduced some foods about 9 months.

US guidelines state honey is safe after one year, per AAP.

There are lots of reasons including insufficient milk supply, mother doesn’t want to, mother can’t for other reasons, and the fact that current recommendations are to introduce solids between 4 and 6 months. Many parents don’t realize that even graham crackers (a common baby snack) with honey as an ingredient should be avoided for infants under 1.
