Keto in Cologne Germany

(Shromona Das) #1

I’m traveling to Cologne for a bit. Not carrying anything to eat- understanding that Germany would be a better place to do Keto than India. But not knowing where to shop and what to shop (I’m a student and am perennially broke so keeping that in mind) is making me nervous. Any fellow ketoers from Cologne, Germany??? Help!!!

I found a German keto grocery store run video for you. The meat of the video is near the middle. I will note that I would have liked to have seen more fresh meats like steak, pork and poultry in her haul. You can really keep it simple and successful just by getting basic meats, eggs, butter and low carb vegetables.

Hello from Berlin!
If you can eat at home in Cologne you can buy your keto food in any supermarket: meat, eggs, dairy, vegetables. If you must go to a restaurant it’s more difficult and expensive. I avoid Asian restaurants because it’s difficult to become full without rice. I prefer Italian, Greek or modern German restaurants where you can find keto compliant meals if you omit potatoes, pasta, rice and bread. You can find fish, steaks, cheese vegetables ecc. But among 50 menu entries only very few keto compliant can be found. Much more expensive than eating at home.
