Ok. Haven’t been on in a while. Just a quick update…

I started this lifestyle on 1/7/19 at 274 lbs. At my heaviest I was about 286 lbs and a size 44, 3x Large. I am currently 225.5 lbs., a size 36 and can wear XL shirts It has been an incredible journey. The most amazing part has been fasting. I began IF about a month in. I have been doing mostly OMAD. But I have done a couple of 48 hour fasts as well, all with terrific results. I am currently doing my first 72+ hour fast and dropped from 229 to 225.5 in just a cpl of days. I’m at 36 hours so far…

In my feeding times I eat almonds and pecans, cheeses, bacon (of course lol), eggs. But more importantly I love vegetables of all kinds: kale, chard, spinach, arugula, mushrooms, jalapenos, serranos, bell peppers, onions, garlic. I still love to cook bacon and then saute all the veggies in the bacon fat…or another day I will just eat 1-2 avocados with salt, spices and salsa and a huge salad.

I have lost about 50 lbs in 5 months and within site of Onederland for the first time since I was a teenager. I just want to thank everyone here who encouraged me and shared information with me on my quest to get healthy! Keto on!

Congratulations! I still haven’t wrapped my head around extended fasting. I eat two meals a day generally (no breakfast), but I think I need to get over the mental block and give a longer fast a try. Great post!! Thank you for sharing!

Absolutely. Yeah, the fasting thing is all psychological. I am the same way. It is totally freaky to me that I can not eat for several days (or weeks) at a time. The idea was completely nuts to me before I embarked on this WOE… But, after learning from so many including Dr. Fung, etc. I have learned that fasting has been practiced for eons. It has always been the goto method for weight loss and health all throughout the ages and only got lost in our modern eat-all-the-time culture.

Thanks Carl. You were some of my initial inspiration and help. Your advice about just eating only when hungry was just what I needed at the time.
