Keto giving hubby pancreas pain and sweet cravings?

#1

I’m feeding my family keto dinners…delicious keto dinners:) But at the same time, they continue to choose sugary, processed foods. Last night, my husband enjoyed his dinner, along with a piece of keto chocolate cheesecake. Then, he finished it off with some Easter candy. Later, he ended up with a tummy ache. This morning, he determined that it was his pancreas that had been hurting, and decided he needed to lay off the fat. Not sure what to make of this. He used to be a freak for salty snacks, but said last night that since I’ve been doing keto, he is now for the first time, craving sweets. He figured that the bacon, etc and fat are satisfying his salty urges, but are now triggering sweet urges. Having a hard time with how to respond and manage this with him. Very interested in other’s thoughts and constructive feedback. TIA!

If they are not going completely keto they are getting high fat high carbs. It is a really bad combo!

Don’t buy the candy, cookies, crackers for them. Allow him to have to remember to pick them up, try not to enable. My DH has to buy his own cereal, and breads.

And good luck!

Thanks Karen! He’s straddling. Worst thing ever!

My ex-husband watches our daughter at my house when I work on Saturdays. He had been sneaking some of my Lilly’s chocolate and told me he had to stop because of the awful stomach upset he got from it. Could the pain have been intestinal upset over eating artificial sweeteners mixed with sugar? That’s an awful combination for the tummy. Also, agree that straddling Keto and SAD is a very bad combination for many reasons.
