Oooh that Peppermint Patty fat bomb sounds delicious!

SO…Moon Cheese is a snack of 100% dried cheese that resemble but are so much better than cheese puffs. They aren’t ā€œPuffedā€ just crunchy pops of flavor. Snack bags are small. Come in flavors Pepper Jack, Cheddar, and Gouda.

Kerrygold Butter…individual 10g packs from Starbucks :slightly_smiling_face:

I get them separately when I get my coffee on the way to the movie

Great w pork rinds or A couple squares of 90% Lindt squares

While others are chewing on milk duds I’m chewing on butter

I like coating almonds in butter, salting them, then toasting in the oven for like 10 minutes. They are so good and, to me, taste a bit like buttered popcorn. You could try making them right before you leave for the theater and wrapping them in foil to keep them somewhat warm, although they are still good when cold. Pecans are good this way too

Adding cinnamon & a bit of stevia makes it a real treat. I did cinnamon-buttered pecans for Christmas.

oh yummy! That sounds good!

Since I went Keto, I don’t feel the need to snack. I have proven on several occasions that it is possible to enjoy a movie without snacking.

I second pork rinds. They are my go-to for popcorn replacement therapy. Having said that the last 2 times I went to the movies I brought them home again as I wasn’t hungry!

Pecans… 90% Chocolate… Pumpkin seeds.
Tasty and nutritionally good for you in moderation. (Movies are a great excuse to add a few Magnesium Boosters to your macros)
Cheers,

Do any of your theaters check bags though? I fear bringing snacks because I don’t want them taken away.

(Rob) #31

In the UK, you’re generally allowed to bring in whatever you want provided it’s not hot food or contains alcohol. It may be worth contacting your regular movie theatre operator to see what their policy is.

I used to live in the US and brought snacks in, stating my ā€˜medical diet’ for Celiac’s if anyone asked. It’s a fair enough point to make, if the movie theatre doesn’t sell anything you can safely eat. If I remember right, I think I would outright declare my celiac snacks on arrival when I first started doing it, because I didn’t want to fear being ā€˜caught!’ Not once did anyone object, and usually empathised. (There was even a bar in LA let me bring in my own GF bottled beer to watch NBA games, didn’t charge me corkage, AND chilled them for me! Now that’s seriously being accommodating and understanding!)

I think it’d be fair enough for you to say the same for a ā€Ketogenic medical diet for [enter your genuine health benefits from Keto here, like diabetes, cholesterol].ā€

Good luck!

I’m at the end of day 3 on the ketogenic diet, not even in ketosis yet so I didn’t want to ruin my efforts so far with movie theater snacks. I’m so glad I came here to learn about movie snacks first! I never heard of Moon Cheese before and didn’t have time to stop at a store on the way. Imagine my surprise when I see Moon Cheese for sale at the concession stand!!! I found my new favorite theater :yum:

THIS THIS THIS. Granted, I do more ā€œlow carbā€ rather than keto, or what some people consider keto anyway. I keep my carbs under 75, and am still in a constant state of ketosis so I count it as keto. That being said, I know that many are not as lucky as I am and have to stay under 25 to stay in ketosis. But I’ve lost 60 pounds in 4 months doing it this way. Anyway, my whole point was I also splurge at the movies and have popcorn, but I do coke zero instead of soda, and just stay away from candy and the rest of the expansive movie theater menu we’ve got here. Cause NONE of it is low carb friendly by any means. Popcorn is the most low carb friendly, if you can believe that. I just alter the rest of my day to account for the 25 or so carbs I end up consuming at the theater. This WOE is all about moderation and alterations.

I have been to a few films this past year and I had to think about it, but the fact is I ate…nothing!

Found these at the U.S. Costco store last month - one bag is very satisfyingly split between two people - at 4 net carbs per serving. I love them!

Super delicious, and very expensive - but comparable with the price of an extra large crappy theatre popcorn w/ butter.

I find eating a good meal before the movie makes even popcorn lose its appeal. If bringing something in, I’d lean towards pepperoni chips, things of that nature. I like the idea of the Moon cheese, will definitely have to try that at some point.
