Keto Friendly Cannabis

#1

NOTE - I live in a state where recreational cannabis use is legal:

Prior to Keto I enjoyed cannabis gummies, both THC and CBD depending on what was going on. Unfortunately, these things are full of sugar. I’m not a smoker so I don’t want to roll, vape, or shadder, thinking of maybe concentrates/oils/tinctures

Anyone have any experience here after going keto?

You could find cannabutter or maybe make your own (google for some tutorials) and then you can make some of your own home cooked edibles (without any sugar).

Hrm, to me that is just a plant like any other plant God created. While it is against the law federally at least in the United States yet, I would look at how the American Indians used it perhaps? Which while I haven’t googled anything on it, from the hollywood version it would seem it was used more as relaxation and or pain reduction. I don’t know that I would go out of my way to force it into a keto diet.

for cannabis to have most of its medicinal effects, it has to be heated above about 250F. So you can smoke it, or eat it in a cooked form. Most of the active ingredients are fat soluble, so heating them in oil (long slow gentle heat) and then adding the oil to food, is the easiest way. There are also other pre made extracts available at stores. there are tons of recipes for oil or butter extracts, online

Thanks for the replies, yes I’ve googled and seen quite a few recipes for butter, however, don’t really have the time to do my own right now. Looking into the pre-made extracts. Wish I could find a keto friendly gummy, those were great.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Ive made butter before with my husband but depending on how you make it, its extremely fragrant which might upset neighbors if you live in an apartment or such.

The only hard part with making your own is knowing how much THC is in it per serving. However if you make something I imagine just try one, see how it feels, and base your next doses on that. If its too strong, eat half a gummy or too weak, eat two etc.

Buy a pre-made tincture, and add to something like this:

Hey hey hey, that’s perfect! easy to control dosage as well. Thanks for the link!

I smell a business opportunity!

I also live in a state where it’s legal. They sell THC infused olive oil at the local dispensary. You could add that to whatever you’re cooking.

I like the ideas of tinctures. I’d go that way if I wasn’t comfortable smoking, alas I am the opposite. I have bad experiences with edibles so I prefer to smoke. But I just wanted to say:

NO CRAVINGS FOR MUNCHIES ON KETO!!! It’s bloody fantastic. I can close off my eating window at 8pm, have a night cap and simply go to bed. I used to have to have snacks on hand for every occasion that I smoked. And if I didn’t I would actually feel despair. Pretty sad, but NO MO! :metal:

Or…buy a cannabis tincture which is in a dropper bottle always and just use the dropper to squirt it down your throat (doesn’t taste good) with a water chaser. You can gauge your dose by how much you fill the dropper. Less effort and maximum value for an expensive product. :cowboy_hat_face:

@David_Stilley

Excellent idea. But in this case, KetoInVegas asked specifically for ideas on making gummies with cannabis. Which is also an excellent idea. I was responding to what he/she asked for. To each his own. :teddy_bear:

Hey guys, I just joined. I am only starting keto and I would love some advice regarding combining keto and cannabis. I have been working out a lot and I have been having a lot of good results but the pressure of getting to certain results has been pressuring me and I had a few panic attacks as well we feeling really anxious. I have had problems like that in the past and I have been using CBD infused edibles to help me with anxiety. I usually order them online from this one website called KoalityMedicinals.com I really like their product range as well as their prices. I am wondering though if I can combine CBD with keto. Any advice?
