Keto Flu question

Wondering if the keto flu symptoms appears only at the beginning of the process? I started keto dieting 9 weeks ago, I did not have any symptoms up to 2 weeks ago started to have major headache and since last week had stomach pain, feel like I am out of breath and that my heart is racing, feel dizzy, nauseous, and I had really difficulties falling asleep… Last 4 days feels like I have the flu… I have lost 18lbs so far. I am following the diet quite strict but not always counting macros. I hit 2 plateaus already (one after 14lbs) and after another 4lbs lost I am again stuck (for 2 weeks). Any idea if this could be keto flu so late in the process (I started feeling bad 7 weeks after starting to eat keto)…

Tks

Keto Flu can happen at any time.
I drink Ketoaide every day and I have never experienced it.
How are you getting your electrolytes?

I am not getting additionnal electrolyte… i felt i was eating already very salty… i drink lots of filtered water and once a day i add 10 deops of trace minerals. I recently started taking magnesium… i will look for ketoaide jut not sure i can find this in Montreal. Feeling quite bad tonight… bloated, head feels like it is going to explode… it is either keto flu or a weird virus:(…

18 pounds in 9 weeks might be too much of a weight loss and your body is actually fighting you on a calorie restriction playing field. If you are like a 250+ pound person - 18 pounds might make sense. Get fat adapted in 4 or 5 weeks and have 4 or 5 weeks keto fat burn. But, if for example, you were a smaller person - it is much more likely you have inadvertently calorie restricted. Keto is about raising your metabolism to become good at fat burning and then introducing variable deficits (if weight loss is your goal). Immediate and severe weight loss due to calorie restriction might make you feel bad after 7 weeks and might make your body go into plateau mode.

Make your own, there are a number of recipes around depending on what ingredients you get locally.

Tks Rob for your comments. I tried to keep my calories intake between 1200-1500 per day but since i am also doing Intermittent fasting i have to be honest, i did hit a plateau for 2 weeks and my calories might have been much lower as i was trying to get passed it… so tour explanation could be true. I have 40lbs to loose, i am half way there… started at 188lbs… i am teying to forget about the weight lost now and just aim to be healthy… the headach is gone this morning:)!!!
