Keto flu/fatigue for 2 weeks?

(Brian Schröpfer) #1

I started keto last May and I do vaguely remember getting “the keto flu” when I first started. I think for the first 3 or 4 days I was constantly tired, but it quickly went away and my energy was higher than pre-keto.

Anyway, towards the end of last summer I wasn’t as strict on my diet (although I still avoided carb heavy foods), and then in November I stopped all together as I was in Europe for work for four months (it’s super hard to stick to a low carb diet over there).

Anyway, as soon as I got back two weeks ago I went straight back into my strict keto routine. I’ve also been weight lifting and doing HIIT cardio.

The problem is, two weeks later, I am very tired all the time, specifically right after eating. Could this just be a bad case of my body adapting to keto, or should I reevaluate my diet? I probably am eating slightly more protein than suggested, but not excessive amounts.

Shouldn’t that be titled “Sleepy after watching Dr Berg drone on”?
