Keto DOES NOT have to be hard...even when eating out

Agree - had a delicious burrito bowl the other day.

Love it!!!

You can do a Subway bowl too. I agree with you Ron - no excuses eating out! If nothing else, steak and veggies!

My go to for years (with celiacs but pre keto) was a cheeseburger with no bun and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. Still applies to keto eating! And is super delicious.

Agreed. I just spent three days on the boardwalk at Ocean City eating shore food. Well, my daughter and granddaughter ate shore food. I ate hamburger patties, chicken Caesar salad, pizza toppings and cheese rounds and nuts that I brought with me. There really isn’t a restaurant in the world that doesn’t have some keto food.

Ocean City, New Jersey or Maryland? I grew up going to Ocean City, New Jersey on family vacations and I’m planning on taking my daughter next summer!

New Jersey. One of my fav places in the world!

I went out for a celebration dinner with family last week. I got a cheeseburger with a fried egg and bacon on top (no bun, of course) and substituted a side salad with blue cheese dressing for the fries. It was awesome.

That’s one of my favorite meals! I love diners and places which have fried egg as a burger topping option. And blue cheese dressing is always the best

Yep - do that all the time - Subway will make any sandwich into a salad and you can ditch the crouton and crackers and be keto.

Eating out keto isn’t hard - just keep in mind you don’t have control over all the ingredients and could have hidden carbs. But better than eating carbage!

Burger place - easy - order with no bun. Sub side salad for fries (if available)

Mexican - take pork rinds for the salsa and cheese dip, order taco/fajita salad w/o tortilla bowl or just don’t eat it. Fajitas and don’t use the tortillas.

American - any steak/American place has a Caesar salad with chicken, or steak/chicken with mushrooms and other non-carby veggies.

Pizza - eat the topping and leave a huge pile of “pizza bones” (crust)

Indian - tandoori chicken is good, go easy on the dishes with sauces but mostly ok - they use a lot of yogurt in them. Ditch the naan bread.

Chinese buffet - stick to the non-breaded/fried meats and vegetables, look for light soy sauces instead of the sticky sweet ones, chx on a stick is good.

Italian - most problematic for me. Depends on the menu, but usually can find a meat dish w/o pasta or pasta as a side dish you can sub out with veggies. Bread hard to ignore because usually really good so ask them not to bring any if ok with dining partners. If not try to ignore!

That is my go to!!
