Help I’m male!
When I do standard washing with detergent the food grease stains don’t come out of the front of my tops.
Hey. what can I say, I’m an enthusiastic eater.
How do people get food grease stains out of their clothes, please?

In the UK Vanish Oxyaction is normally a good bet. If really serious grease try the appropriate stain devil.
If washing in a hot wash you are more likely to get grease out of fabric, but obviously not all fabric will take a 60 or 90 degree celsius cycle.
To avoid future stains, try using a napkin tucked into your collar or wear an apron when cooking and eating.
Thanks Polly.
I think in Australia our equivalents are Biozet (to vanish) and Sard Wonderstick (to Stain Devil).
These days I request a bib at restaurants before I tuck into the delicious roasted pork ribs.
My dad places some hand-dishwashing liquid soap on the stain while it’s still “wet,” lets it soak and then washes as normal
Immediate dish soap is my technique too.
And I always wear an old shirt while cooking. Eating though - still a problem for my chest area. Being female makes that even worse.
I’m chuckling imagining the waiter pulling out the chair while the patron unfolds an apron and puts it on before sitting.
Same problem in my house. It’s a current issue we are trying to solve (for him). We have managed to make a habit of an apron while cooking. And, we’ve had some luck with Shout spray (in the US). The dish soap while wet is interesting though it’d require a change of clothes 3 times a day.
@Shortstuff What do you mean by soda crystals? Like Borax?
They’re just called soda crystals here, but apparently sodium carbonate -
Just add some to each wash and it takes any grease or oil marks out.
Great, thank you both . From quick research it looks like Borax and washing soda work in a similar way except washing soda is stronger and more caustic and they actually say to not let it touch your skin. I suppose if the Borax isn’t cutting it then try the washing soda. I think I’ll pick some up.
Shout spray gel on the stains.
Put on as you toss in hamper.
Cadie stain stick has been the most effective thing I’ve found that doesn’t damage any fabric. (I wear all natural fabrics, cotton, silk, and sometimes rayon). This is in the US.
I keep a bar of Fels Naptha laundry soap around. It costs about a buck or two and lasts forever. Dip an end in water, rub it on the stain, then toss the garment in the hamper and wash whenever.
