Keto diet and holidays

(bobo696) #1

Hi everyone,

So I started the keto diet beginning of November this year because of sky high levels of triglycerides in my blood. After the first 10 days of cravings, mental and physical, I was good. I continued until mid end of December and I felt awesome!

Unfortunately I went on holidays and it was impossible to continue the keto diet (I was in peru, almost everything has carbs). So for around 2 weeks I reverted to high carb diet. I’m back now but leave again for 6 weeks, hiking camping and so on.

My question is how do you keep eating low carbs on such holidays? I’m afraid access to vegetables is going to be difficult…

Thanks!

Unless you can hire a nutritionist/guide I would pretty much go carnivore and focus on basics like meat, poultry and fish, if possible.

Olive oil is a good powerhouse. Can you add that some sort of vegetables?

I’m not sure Canned fish would be helpful?

Things like beef jerky?

Ancient civilisations had techniques for Packaging meat and utilising it out there in the wild all Before refrigeration. So I know it can be done… Somehow…

Thanks, yes canned fish will be useful! But I do not worry about fat and protein, I worry about vegetables, because usually these fill the stomach…
