Keto calories vs. label calories

(Curtis Fields) #1

Does anyone know why there is a difference in calories when I add up fat grams times 9, and protein and carb. grams times 4 are different than the calorie count on the nutrition label? Does it matter and why? Thanks, CRF.

Your question is a little confusing I must say…

Can you clarify what you mean or show us a label?

I’m with Katie… the question is a bit confusing but I think you wonder why when you add up the calories using fat grams x9 + protein grams x4 + carb grams x4… you get a different amount of calories than the label says.

I would not be surprised if your calorie answer is less than the labels and that’s because labels are like people’s profiles at a dating site. They will say they are 130 but they are really 158 so that they are more appealing to you.
