Keto and MS

(Lauren) #1

Is there anyone here with experience with keto and MS? My aunt has MS and is internet challenged, so she asked me to ask you guys. Has it made anything better? Worse? Gerneral observances?

I have MS and have found the ketogenic diet to be very beneficial. Certainly less fatigue, and no relapses for several years since switching to completely gluten free diet. I basically live a completely normal life as if I had never been diagnosed at all. Keto further elevates the benefits one achieves from paleo, wholefood, lchf way of eating. I should add that I do not take any medications, prescription or otherwise, as I opted out of what was offered to “treat” this autoimmune disease. I highly recommend reading Dr Terry Wahls story and following her diet protocols. She is currently doing clinical trials into the impact of diet against this and other diseases, and initial findings are in keeping with her own experience of health transformation.

Don’t know if any of this helps, but here’s a Reddit thread on the subject:
