Keto and ADD/ADHD

Does anyone here have ADD/ADHD and find Keto has improved your condition?

I fear I have ADD and I am also undiagnosed.
I have a referral to a psychiatrist to get diagnosed but I am hoping keto will help improve the ‘fogginess’ in my brain…
I don’t want to have to go on medication, I have always refused any type of prescription medication, even for depression, I’m a firm believer than food can fix you.

Can anyone give any insight?

I’ve read/heard many cases where people that were taking medication for ADD/ADHD actually went off their medication after a few months of keto. I say you’re on the right path

I have a daughter that is 21 and has autism/epilepsy. Me, hubby and daughter all started this adventure December. I can tell that it has helped her mind and body calm down. She is much more focused. Even her teachers have noticed a difference. I am hoping to get her off seizure meds. I didn’t stop at Keto; I keep tweaking our diet in an effort to get the most nutritious foods in us all. I think one thing that is key in overcoming more serious situations is to keep learning. Listen to a variety of podcasts, read a variety of books and watch a variety of documentaries. Try to become intune to yourself. If something sounds right to you, try it and assess how it feels to you.
I believe all things are possible.

There is a good book that I read called Genius Foods. It is really easy to read with great info about foods that boost brain function. The other are a I have been researching is that of how our gut bacteria can help immunity and function.
Good luck.

You might also try seeing a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist first (if you haven’t already) as they’ll try other methods to help you (they don’t/can’t prescribe drugs).
Me, I’m not a fan of psych meds…often the side effects far outweigh the symptoms they’re designed to address.
