Keto aid for life?

(John) #1

Just for discussion.

I’m about 10 months into this and I still wake up craving salt. I salt all my food heavily, I take Mg, K pills before bed. But in the morning I still wake up craving an extra salty glass of keto aid.

Anyone else still notice a high salt requirement? I would have hoped it would have cooled off a bit.

However, after typing this I realize that if we need about 5-6 grams of sodium a day (I think that’s what Salt Fix says) then that isn’t something that just goes away, especially with no water retention due to no carbs. Maybe I’m not salting enough.

Thoughts?

More salt
,Better taste
,Less lethargicness.

I would up your salt as much as possible as when in ketosis ATP works a little different without (glucose+water)

yeah just seems odd to have to salt so much. I wonder historically if what humans ate was so full of salt that everyone didn’t cramp and felt great. seems odd.

When I was premenstrual I would always find food bland and in need of salt. Maybe the hormone regulation / rebalancing that’s supposed to happen during ketosis has something to do with craving for more salt?
