Keeping a “stall” or “plateau” in proper perspective

(Ron D. Garrett) #1

Something to think about and to keep in perspective when you’ve hit a “stall” or a plateau that comes from a bodybuilder/powerlifter that has been in the game for over 30 years now.

Bodybuilders/powerlifters experience “stalls” or “plateaus” all of the time yet quite often they realize that it’s part of the process so they keep on working, they inspect their routine to ensure that they aren’t doing anything that is hindering their progress, and eventually the stall or plateau passes (UNTIL the next one…they always show up).

We need to realize that stalls/plateaus are a part of this process and not be so freaked out when they rear their head.

Learn to be patient within the process of this WOE/WOL, continue diligent in your program, and take note of the other positives that you have gained with this Keto style of life instead of allowing yourself to be disheartened by what you have not lost on the scale.

My prayer is that this post helps you to place things into proper perspective since the same principles that apply to gaining muscle or strength applies to losing bodyfat or weight…patience and trusting in the process and yourself is the key.

Be blessed…keep calm and keto on!!

Feeling that “stall” right now:

That said, I’ve managed to lose a little bit more around the waist, despite my weight being about the same.
Also, I’ve been traveling quite a lot over these last few months.
Maintaining a stable weight during this time is a feat in and of itself!

Awesome!! Hang in there! I’m in a stall myself but I love how I feel so no worries

I went from 440lbs to 360 lbs in about 6 months last year. Lost about 10 lbs in the next 2 months. I had plateaued at 350 for about 3 months. I decided to drop all alcohol and HWC() in my coffee and have lost 10 lbs in the last month. Alway keep experimenting and KCKO.

Yeah I think it’s time i try this - dropping the HWC… there’s definately a plateau afoot here for a month now (this is my third month of keto and nothing in the last month). I have introduced some fat bombs in the last couple of weeks and quite frankly i think that’s what did it. the fat bombs were to curb cravings for carbs. Coincidentally I’ve also noticed that it’s around the time I stopped doing daily electrolytes. So it’s back to the drawing board - with the electrolytes, and minus the HWC.
