Just the yolks?

(Garry (Canada)) #1

My protein levels are always my Achilles heel. I can’t seem to keep under 1.2g/kg without depriving myself. (Typically I eat about 95g protein daily on my 77kg total bodyweight frame)

Is there any benefit of eating the egg white other than for it’s protein content?
I’m thinking of going against the grain and eating just the yolks for macro purposes mentioned above.
What do you think? Are the egg whites of any benefit other than for the protein? Can I ditch some/most/all of the whites?

(I usually have 3 fried eggs for breakfast 6 out of 7 days/week)

Pretty sure that most of the ketoish nutrition is in the yolk, used to eat just the whites, back in the “low fat” day.

I am oddly squeamish about the whites of eggs and have been eating only the yolks since I was a kid (I’m 48). I’m still alive so I think you’ll be fine!

Just drop them into a shake.

I’m not a fan of egg white, never have been I always just eat the yolk. When I fry eggs the white goes down the sink and the yolk into the pan.
