Just gave away my Subcard

One of the guys here went to Subway for lunch, which made me realise that I still had a Subcard with enough points for a foot long, dug it out of my wallet and gave it to him for next time he fancies one (yes I know I shouldn’t be encouraging bread eating, but he’ll go anyway).

Our family turned in our Subway habit when we realized (well before LCHF) that they had a yoga mat material in their bread. No need to convince us that was problematic.

Ooh tasty, love me a bit of yoga mat to munch on! Not sure how long it is since I had a Subway, it was definitely several months prior to starting keto, so over a year at least.

We still go to Subway. My husband is on maintenance and usually gets a wrap and I have a salad with either tuna, rotisserie chicken or (new) pulled pork. I bring my own dressing.

That’s a great idea–I’ve given away all the non-keto food from my pantry at home, but didn’t even think about my free sandwich cards for a couple of places taking up space in my wallet.

FWIW, I don’t think it’s anyone’s job to “encourage” or “discourage” any type of eating to any of our adult friends or acquaintances. No one appreciates it, and it never does any good. If someone expresses an interest in keto I’m happy to tell them all about it (and a few folks in my life have given it a shot after noting my increased energy and weight loss), but adults make their own choices, and if you know someone is gonna eat Subway for lunch anyway, it’s a very nice gesture to save him a few bucks on a sandwich.
