… quit counting. That’s right. After 6+ years, I’m finally going to quit counting calories. I’m pretty nervous about it. …afraid my weight control will get away from me. But as a famous preacher lady always says, I will “Do it afraid.”
I've quit carbs, quit caffeine, now it's time to
You are in ketosis, right? I do think while your body stays in ketosis, you wont feel hungry. My first foray into Keto taught me that. I went for three days without eating or snacking, because I was so busy I forgot to eat! When I did eat, I never ate nearly as much as before.
Just remember when you eat, dont eat until you feel full. ONLY EAT if you feel hungry. Stop as soon as the feeling is gone. If you have any leftover bacon, wrap it in a paper towel and stick it in a zip lock baggie. Jack Nicolson taught me that one. Oh, and you can use it to becaome friends with every dog in the neighborhood !7;^>
You have cheerleaders, just so ya know!
Good on you, even if this is a complete flop, you’re trying something and seeing if it works for you. That’s huge. Of course you’re gonna have fear, you’ve worked hard for a while now and slipping backward is a scary thought. Luckily, even if you fall on your face you can content in the knowledge that somehow, any possible negatives (barring something crazy) are reversible! Go you!
Edit: Hunger can be a fickle thing, for sure. There’s times I can get through 3/4 of a lb of a steak and put it down, and times when I’m totally ravenous right after eating 4 lbs of it…but you start to identify the feelings and the differences between them, it’s a totally enlightening experience.
Go for it. I stopped counting / tracking back in July and have no regrets at all!
It’s what I love about the keto way of eating, this business of eating to satiety. I eat a lot less, and a lot less often, than I did as a sugar-burner, and am not hungry for much of the day. In fact, I just realized I’ve been doing 16:8 IF completely unintentionally the last couple of weeks.
