It's chili cookoff day at work and I am fasting!

Sad day. Today is the chili cookoff at work. There will be some 5-10 different chilis cooking all day and a party at lunch to judge whose is best… Not only are they too high-carb for me, but I can’t even test them. I am 112 hours into a fast! This will be a hard day.

Bring some sample cups a refrigerate to try another day.:confused::confused:.

Wow, what kind of gainful employment has chilli cook offs?
Great tip to save some samples though, one of those waxy ketchup cup thingies would hold a wee taster.
Maybe you need to take a mental health day… if that is a legit thing.

My company is really fun. We do a chili cook up every mid maarch. There are tons of free snacks and beer in the fridge too.

No mental health day. I have too much work to do before upcoming vacation at the end of the month. Plus, every contract with security terms goes through me anyway, which means I always have to be available—even on vacation.

We have quarterly potlucks that go with customer service awards and announcements.

I’d make my keto chili if chucks were on sale at the right time. At $5.99/lb that’s $45 for a batch just on the beef. Too high for a work function.

I survived…but I really want some chili…two more days of fasting left.

Good for you and well done for making it through. I think I would find any kind of extended fast a struggle. Most I can manage is 16 hours.
Maybe I will manage more later on in the year.

Host a KETO Day!! bring in cheese, bacon, avocados, etc. hang up a sign and give everybody a free pass to eat some real food!
Seriously, I used to love to make and eat chili and I was thinking about some kind of keto chili version a couple weeks back and have not had time so, better beef stroganoff (ground meat, sour cream, hwc, some mushrooms) is as satisfying, imo… Good luck

Actually many of those st my work are keto now… the problem is they are mostly remote, so they didn’t make food for the cookoff.

My sympathies after the fact!
