Is this nutrition info bad or not too bad

(Andy) #1

Would appreciate some feedback on this. Is this one to avoid on Keto or acceptable in small bits on rare occasion??

Thanks in advance

The answer is going to be “it depends,” almost certainly, but knowing what is in it is also an important part of the equation.

Well, it’s 40% carbohydrate, and even a two-square serving contains 7.9 g, so I’d want the taste to be worthwhile. In my own case probably to avoid, but you might be okay with small bits every once in a great while.

Yeah, agreed, but for a question like this I just wanted to see if it had maltitol in it. (Which, if I may digress, I heard - REPEATEDLY! - pronounced as “MALILOL” on a keto cooking podcast the other day and it drove to distraction.)

It’s polyols tho, not sugars so they are not absorbed into the blood the same as sugar. That’s why I was asking cos that part can be misleading. Research leads me to think it’s not too bad but many people on here know much more than me!

Unfortunately, the only way to know whether you can handle it is to try. Some people react to on or another of the artificial sweeteners, and it seems to be a completely individual thing. Proceed cautiously, but give it a try!
