Is it normal if you have lost quite a bit of weight on keto, that the muscles lining your stomach on the front, sides, and back to be sore all the time? Not a sore to the touch but like the sore muscles feel the day after a hard workout. Is this caused from constricting and restructuring of the stomach muscles or something that one should be concerned about?
Opinions?
Is this normal with weight loss?
It may well be that after a large loss your gait has changed & thus created/revealed a muscle imbalance. Might be worth seeing your doctor or a physio.
If it’s soreness and not a sharp pain, then it’s probably okay, but why not see the doctor and know for sure? @anon54735292’s notion of the change in gait is a good one, and it might have revealed a problem, or you might just be in the throes of readjusting.
Or possibly you are drinking too much HWC, going into blackouts, and sneaking off to the gym without being aware of it . . . ?
You’re not over-doing the crunches are you Ron? I’m not going near sit-ups until I get near to 100kg, I’ve strained myself in the past going too early, like trying to do 1000 sit ups a day.
I’ve lost 8+ inches across my midsection. There’s definitely not a soreness, but an overall tightness across my torso from the front of my stomach that extends to both sides where “love handles” used to be. I especially feel it at night when I’m lying in bed. It’s not sore like after an ab workout, it feels like I would imagine (I’ve never worn one) wearing a sweat band might feel like.
LOL, Actually I did my first un-assisted sit up about a week ago (big NSV), it has been a few years since I did one. But the dull muscle aches were before that. I have been more active as the weight is falling and maybe that is the culprit.
This is exactly what I am experiencing. I have went from 42 waist to 34 waist and also feel it more at night. Thanks for the reply. It is good to hear that someone else is feeling the same.
Now you guys have got me going, I’m feeling those aches now too! I got them sitting at the computer…
