ADMIN TIME:
Lets keep this on the rails…we don’t need talk of “killing as warning” all that …even in jest.
Is there a way to make the restaurant do as what you requested?
Maybe try using a crockpot. There are a lot of meals where you can just dump in the ingredients and let it cook: nothing fancy required. Then, you can have what you like and don’t have to eat out.

If you feel like you need to do this, then do it. Its your choice. Youll be taking away time and energy from yourself and your own health, and i think thats a mistake. You have enough challenges with finding good healthy options and changing your existing habits. My advice is to forget about this, it’s a diversion.
Okay, okay. I am just expressing some ideas. Just something that I am wondering: if nothing is done to the restaurant except not attending to them anymore, they just lost one business. 100…0 vs 1, it is so minority. Of course I would like to make the effect of making minority unhappy great. Just feeling a little bit aggressive.
You are right. A lot of challenges already. If the warning doesn’t happen yet, the challenge will persist forever and the people in the future who want to be healthy thus follow keto will suffer with all those challenges too. Of course, one can choose to run away and just do the home-cooking, but I would like my life to have more options.
I know I am extreme and aggressive. Never mind me. Just that this keto makes me not so happy because of the challenges it gives. Maybe I just need more time to get used to keto.
Maybe I just want the world to revolve around me.
You say you want to do this for future generations and change things, maybe change the world, but you also castigated yourself for being selfish. I think there’s a middle ground. You can work on yourself first, and society second.
I agree that society will not get healthier unless people can eat better. You are right. But a huge number of people will need to change their eating style, for this to happen. Start with one- you. When you can say your eating habits are solid and healthy, then worry about other people, how the do business and how they choose to eat.
This is hilarious! When we went to Hawaii, spam was all over the menu at a breakfast place we went to.
Cloudy, I’m with you on the “angry” feelings. Maybe not at restaurants particularly in my case.
I have read Jason Fungs Obesity Code and his Fasting book too.
I am aggrieved that over my adult life the health ministry’s mantra is to eat lower fat, higher complex carbs. Exercise more, blah blah blah and it has all been based on dodgy data and research.
Endless subsidies to farmers to grow crops that are slowly making us fatter.
I only wish that any subsidies to grow crops such as berries and leafy veg or grass fed beef were as widely supported. Crop rotation to reduce the need for fertilizers and pesticides.
I feel I have done a disservice to my teenagers, years of granola bars and brown bread packed lunches…
I just have to remember to follow the Keto code, which seems to be
keep CALM and Keto on…it is the staying calm which is really tough to master some days.
Vote with your feet! Just don’t go back to that restaurant, find another one that will at least try to provide the food that you want. It’s their loss not yours.
You can stress over two categories of things.
Things within your control.
Things beyond your control.
My solution is to get upset about the things within my control that I haven’t changed, and then figure out what changes I can make, because it’s within my control.
The things that are beyond my control are indeed stressful. But if I can’t make an action to fix them, I cannot get all bent about it.
Couple of suggestions for you if you want to work through some of your anger.
First, a book:
The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck: How to Stop Spending Time You Don’t Have with People You Don’t Like Doing Things You Don’t Want to Do by Sarah Knight. It’s funny, but it’s a practical way to some wasting stress on things that aren’t really that important.
Second, an app:
A bit of personal time with some meditation might be really good for you.
Because I’m at my best when I’m researching things for folks and my keto induced (and ADD medicated) brain clarity has me a week ahead on all work projects, I dug this out for you, Cloudy. Some good ideas on eating out around Singapore.
Somewhere, I think I have some pictures of me on a school trip that spent a few days in Singapore. I believe doing my MBA was the fattest I’ve ever been, so they’re buried pretty deep. But they’d make a nice before/after…
Just come stand next to me. The world is already committed to revolve around me . I’ll share
There are not enough ways to like this post. Thank you for posting such a kind, thoughtful response. Glad I kept reading this thread!
I have my good days. They’re coming more frequently lately.
I am told it will not be televised.
One item I try and do is plan out where I am going that way I can look at the menu and see what will work and how to do a workaround is needed. There are times this cannot be done of course and then you have the person looking at you like you lost your mind when you say no bun please.
