Is the American Heart Association at it again?

This piece in the New York Times reads like a press release from the AHA, sowing confusion about saturated fats https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/22/well/eat/is-it-better-to-cook-with-coconut-oil-or-olive-oil.html

It never ends. The world is sick and there are organizations with all their eggs in one basket. They would rather ignore new science than admit they are wrong. The AHAs insistence on the dangers of saturated fat is almost as frustrating as the world’s mainstream science’s proclamation of manmade global warming. I hate fake science!

I am sorry but I need to clarify this, are you staying that you believe global warming has not been influenced by man?

Correct, but not really the proper forum so i shouldn’t have made it part of my rant

Thinking both coconut and olive oil are OK on keto, correct??

Yep, they’re both great. Cooking and smoke points make them difficult to cook with. Light olive oil has higher smoke point than virgin, but i generally cook with butter or bacon grease and add olive oil to salads. I hate the taste of coconut oil so use mct oil if i want some medium chain triglyceride boost
