Is the AHA a terrorist group? Must read article posted below:

Great to see that perspective getting some exposure–though I’m not sure what kind of exposure Medium really has.

There were 7 comments when I read the article. I assumed that at least 4 of them would be mindless parroting of the AHA position.

But all 7 were supportive of (or at least open to) the argument that the AHA puts the interests of industry partners ahead of public health.

Nice share.

provocative title to get people to read of course but it sums up the position quite beautifully and eloquently.

The AHA if they cared would readjust everything but they have too much cash invested in the old orthodoxy to back out. Frankly when they allow Coco Pops to be closed as ‘heart healthy’ then the whole body is discredited.

Corrupt organizations like AHA and ADA are getting their due. The body of science and anecdotal data discrediting their dogma is rapidly growing and spreading. I think they are in a very difficult spot because to suddenly change their positions might open them up to litigation. But the truth about what constitutes a healthy WOE cannot be suppressed for long.

AHA sponsors in 2015-16

How are we in a situation where pharmaceutical companies are allowed to sponsor a health organization?

(ianrobo) #7

Yep in the US and here in UK tends to be Kellogg’s with their whole grain healthy heart nonsense

Sanitarium here in Australia, or the Dietitians Ass. of Australia their spokes-muppet.

These associations should be govt funded. Of course some bias there but they can be ibdepentbif set up correctly !
