Is My Fitness Pal Premium worth it? For macros? I just have a few lbs to lose and have been on Keto 2 years

Hi

Is it worth buying the My fitness pal premium? I need to track to make sure I am getting enough fat it my diet. If I get enough fat my cravings and overeating is at a minimum.

I am using the free My fitness pal app but it doesn’t seem to save my prior info?

I should add that I am not much of a geek so the simpler the better. Is premium simpler? I am basically just interested to make sure my protein is where it should be and my fat is enough.

thanks for your help!

MFP does show you your macros in the free version. MFP%20macros%20view

You just have to sub the fiber from the carbs to get net carbs if that is what you are using. The Low Carb Daily forum has a launch pad post that has a way to add an extension to your browser that will show you net carbs if you really need that but it isn’t necessary at all.

What premium does is let you set macronutrients by grams.
Set macronutrient goals by either gram or percentage.

I have used MFP for years now and it is so SAD oriented, I never felt I needed the premium features. It hates me when I enter a fasting day :).

:rofl::laughing::rofl:

I use MFP too…you don’t need no stinkin premium! You can set all your macros, go to Goals —> Daily Nutritional Goals ----> Edit and plug in your stuff.

I would say no. I have used the free version for years.

I never pay for those trackers…they are there to just give you a better idea where you are… TRY chronometer. I find it more fun. if you have a Samsung phone its best to use samsunghealth.

sorry . typo. CRONOMETER

If you go to the bottom of your daily macro report there is a button that says get full report. this will give you your fiber count for the day.

Nope, the free version of cronometer is better than the paid version of MFP, the paid revision of cronometer adds a ton and is worth it but if your looking for the best free, go with cronometer. All the stuff MFP wants you to pay for cronometer does for free.

I’m impressed with Cronometer. I have used MFP for years but it certainly does offer a lot. I’m going to try it!

I use Keto Diet App. I did pay a one time fee of 6.99 and after trying every app I could find it is great. It is the one with the fish icon. There is a free version to try.

No. Not worth it, not required, you can configure your macro ratios to 85% fat, 15% protein, and 0% carbs without paying anything. That’s how I configure mine, at least.
