Is Mineral Water a viable way to get enough minerals?

#1

I have been having a really hard time getting the mineral aspect of this way of eating down. I bought Magnesium Glycinate as my research found that it was one of the more absorbable kinds of magnesium. It has completely made me wide awake for most of the night. I read somewhere that for some people magnesium can give you insomnia instead of helping you sleep. When I do doze off I have these crazy scary dreams. I was taking 400 mg. I also bought potassium I take 1 pill I think it’s 99mg. I have been at a loss as to how to get all my minerals without all the side effects. I’m very sensitive to vitamins and medication in general. I haven’t taken a Tylenol in 15 years. I bought some Gerolsteiner mineral water and have been drinking a big bottle every night. Any ideas on how to get more minerals without the side effects? I should say I mostly only eat one meal a day occasionally two. I try really hard to fill that meal with a lot of greens and veg.

Sure just make sure you “meat” your daily percentages

try eating liver, using Himalayan pink salt, fortified almond/coconut milk, super green mixes and yes even mineral water but better yet bones! You need “bones” too make bones . Try bone broth or what or I sometimes eat the really soft bone marrow and bones of chicken wings after they come out of oven, oops lol!

@KidKeto I never skimp on the meat that’s the best part. I will add some of your suggestions minus the liver. Bad memories of my Scottish Mum trying to pass it off as steak.

I make pate of livers (chicken, turkey) mayo and lots of garlic, salt, bit if onion. Great on chicharones.

I need to do this, my mom used to make it as a kid and I loved it. Haven’t been able to find liver yet at the store

I don’t know that mineral water would provide enough, but I have a Santevia water bottle that infuses water with trace minerals and I found that I avoided the keto flu when I started up again. This could also be a coincidence, however I think a bit of trace minerals in my daily water guzzling must be helpful. If the idea of that interests you, check out Santevia. They have a bunch of options like a mineral stick you can put in your regular water bottle. I have the one made by them with the removable basket. There’s also jugs (like Brita,) and whole counter top water system (that I’m aiming to buy one of these days).

Check out their website if you fancy

Good luck!

@Jessica_A thanks. I have been drinking mineral water every night with a little Apple Cider Vinegar and some salt. This seems to be helping in addition to supplementing with Magnesium Glycinate and Pottassium.
