Is it possible to lose too much?

I wasn’t worried. I was around 165 when I was young. But others were worried about me. My heaviest was like 205. I was never huge. Just carrying all my weight in the worst place. I was a TOFI.

Well when I got diagnosed as T2D I dove in head first. I tracked everything I ate and I gave up drinking 100%.

Now that my metabolic syndrome is no more and my blood sugar is normal I don’t much measure anything and I enjoy a vodka soda when I want that. I gained some weight back and now I stay around 175 without worrying about much. Some here say that is my “Phinney Weight”

Yeah sounds like you have found your “Phinney Weight” for sure. You’ve done well!

I might have to add back in the red wine then. I like that idea

So would you say it is not worth forcing in extra calories and just wait and see how it goes?

Unless you are worried about your well being or you are feeling ill effects I would go with the flow. I enjoyed being that skinny for a while. I looked and felt younger. But my sugar levels were more erratic. Then you are that thin there’s less body fat to level you out.

“lose too much” I think yes- I overshot my “Phinney Weight”. It wasn’t that hard to do- I was motivated to improve my health and excited about the results.

“eventually stabilize” I hope so- perhaps because I can see my health parameters have clearly improved and the initial excitement is wearing off- I’ve been able to “relax a bit” like Matt describes.

I’ve gained some weight back and feel stronger with it. My BS’s haven’t suffered so I think in some more time, I’ll reach an optimal weight for me.

I was 20 pounds less than this.

@matt @V1ncentt I feel a bit better now knowing that you and others overshot their ideal weight but then put a little back on. I feel perfectly ok, and I don’t have BS to worry about. As far as I know I was never pre-diabetic, and a few months into keto I got a monitor and fasting levels were good. So I’ll just keep calm and keto on for another couple of months and see how it goes.

Looking good there Matt. Healthy and just the right weight

I’m 6’1" and started pre Keto at right around 200. Three months in I was in the 150s, and then it slowly crept up to 165 or so. Now I have to do extreme things to budge it from that 165 mark, either an extended fast or vast amounts of exercise. I routinely IF, never have breakfast, and have 1 to 2 meals a day depending on appetite, having between 1500-2500 calories a day. At one point I did fall into a routine of only 1000 calories a day or so by not paying enough attention, busy work and family schedule, but ended up feeling terrible as a result. Now I just make sure my meals are nutritionally and calorie dense and things are proceeding swimmingly.
