Is Counting Needed

(Joanna Parszyk ) #82

My absolute pleasure, l really hope some of it will help. Do not give up.
Good things come with some effort. My goal now is to keep benefiting from Keto and getting others on the board, sharing my experiences.

One last tip!
Hot dark cocoa drink (winter is coming). Hot mug of almond milk with extra melted Tbsp of butter or coconut oil, splash of vanilla (without sweetener!), 2 tbsp pure unsweetened cocoa powder (like for cooking), tiny pinch of salt to bring out the flavor. Does the trick!

Do not hesitate to reach our in case of further questions, that’s why are here for each other even though we might practice different styles of keto. Customizing, trying out and patience.

That’s funny, I have literally just had a cup of the above minus the vanilla (I don’t have any in the cupboard at the mo) but with sweetener and it has done the trick!

I counted everything in the beginning just to understand macros and make sure I was eating keto. I do omad most days now and I eat a few variations of basically the same Couple meals so I don’t have to count anymore. Doing omad has really freed me from the “ need” to track since I know I don’t go anywhere near 20 carbs in that one single meal. I bought a blood ketone tracker several months ago and only used it a couple times. I know I’m fat adapted and in ketosis so I don’t feel like I need to track anything anymore. It’s very freeing to be able to just eat and enjoy the keto lifestyle!

Garrett Valley sugar-free uncured bacon. It’s the only kind of bacon I can eat. I get it at a Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage store, but those are only to be found in Colorado and surrounding states. I haven’t found it at Whole Foods, oddly enough.
