Is .3 ketostick in ketosis?

#1

Not sure how high I need to get it…is.3 on a Freestyle Optium meter high enough for me to be burning fat …or does it need to be higher?

Thanks! Haven’t used the meter for over a year and I have forgotten.

The numbers on the reader have no bearing on how much fat you’re burning.

While the medical definition of nutritional ketosis specifies a serum level of β-hydroxybutyrate if 0.5 or greater, that is actually somewhat arbitrary. The higher levels of ketones are often seen only in the beginning; and then they drop as the liver gets more efficient at matching production to need. If you are eating minimal carbohydrate and are still breathing in and out, then your liver is producing ketones.
