Intermittent Fasting & Sleep

(John Nunez) #1

Interesting phenomenon that happens to me. My IF eating window is from 8am to 1pm (only breakfast and lunch). On the rare occasion I do eat dinner (still Keto of course), I have difficulty falling asleep. It’s as if my body is not accustomed to receiving exogenous energy at this time so it wants to use it up! Anyone else have a similar experience?

I experience a deeper sleep with less hours duration

My eating window is 1:00pm to 7:00pm and have no trouble falling asleep, but never did. Waking up at 2 and 3 is my problem. I am trying magnesium. Not drinking wine helps of course.

Hmm, interesting…when extended fasting I usually have the problem of waking up too early…but not tired at all!

Same. My eating window is typically 5am-10am, and while nowadays, after over a year of this, I can fall asleep with melatonin, I cannot stay asleep longer than 5 hours.

I guess having a “too much energy” problem is better than the alternative lol
