ZI begin intermittent fasting probably a 18/6 window and feel at times I become anxious
which seems to settle down as I eat which is something new for me
has anyone else experienced this
what could be the cause?
Intermittent fasting and anxiety
Just relax, all mind over matter.
If you feel hungry or anxious - ask yourself if you are truly hungry or just bored, then wait ten minutes and ask yourself the same question.
Deep breaths.
The times that you were eating b4, in the morning or evening…food perhaps had the comfort or calming effect? Mentioned somewhere else. Like a “ sedation “ perhaps
It did for me
Maybe the sciences gurus can add or chime in.
Going forward, it will change
Good Luck!
How long have you been consistently keto? Are you sure you’re full fat-adapted? It can take up to a year for some folks, so, that could be a part of it.
If you use the search bar up top and look for anxiety/PTSD/panic attack posts - there are a number of them, maybe something useful for you in them. KCKO
I believe you, and it’s not just in your head. I have, unfortunately, decades of experience with the painful sensation. You may be experiencing a transitional moment of a precipitous drop in blood sugar. It’s as though the brain is registering a threat to life itself, just as it would if being suddenly deprived of oxygen. For me, keto has improved the situation. Thank goodness! Don’t torture yourself. If the pattern repeats itself, see if a small bite of food rights your feelings and puts you back on track to continue your IF. A couple almonds might readjust your hormones to a normal mood within minutes. My sincere best wishes to you.
