Hey all, new to ketogenic forums and hoping someone here can help me!

I started keto almost two months ago, havent been perfect but trying my best. I recently stopped intermittent fasting because i would have all of this energy in the morning, then right when i ate my first meal of the day, i would get very tired about an hour after, along with crazy brain fog and no energy.

Electrolytes are good and drinking a lot of water

Welcome to the forum Jeffrey.

Maybe you were doing the intermittent fasting at the wrong times for your body? If you were getting tired, I am wondering if you were eating enough calories, and getting enough of what you need? 20 grams max of carbs, no sugars, high proteins and high healthy fats =).

Maybe give us more info of a sample meal you would have and info about you so members can make better help advice =-).

I am eating between 1800 and 2200 calories a day and eat my first meal at noon. Net carbs are mainly under 20 a day. The highest ive gone was 25 net carbs. Protein is 1 gram per pound of LEAN body mass which is 121g and fat takes the rest.
I thought maybe it would be because i havent been strict keto the whole time so im not fully fat adapted

That makes sense =) It is essential to get into Ketosis for it to all work well =). You will feel really horrible for a few days but then feel great and have a lot of energy…I have too much (trouble with sleeping, so working on that atm haha).

Hi Jeffrey.

Getting tired after eating is a sign that your blood glucose levels are low and that insulin levels are high. I’ve seen it suggested to increase the amount of fat you are eating in that fast breaking meal, a bit less protein and to avoid artificial sweeteners if you are including them. Doing these things will hopefully improve your insulin response.

Please let us know how this goes for you.

I do not consume any artificial sweeteners anyway but will try what you suggested and keep you updated.

Thank you for your input and advice!
