Increasing BG over time, stable ketones

#1

Just a little frustrated in the process of finally healing! I was Low Carb for 2 months a flipped to Keto 20 net carbs leaning more to 20 total. I am 7.5 weeks in at this point from stoping all meds and doing Keto. I feel great, lost around 15 lbs, lost my arthritic pain that made it painful to impossible to bend many joints, and much of my neuropathy has vanished.

The problem is that my Blood Glucose is going up slowly to where the doctor is going to have issue. I went from around 150 ish to 240 ish fasting due to the Dawn Phenomenon. I do an 18:6 IF and have mixed it up some what with 24 fast etc but it still has risen. Yes I am still very strict to the 20-30 total and just started to be more careful towards the 20. For the last 3 weeks I have had fasting ketones range from 0.5 to 1.8 with these high glucose readings. I know I have NAFLD, not sure to what degree since last ultrasound was 2015. Just had a bunch of labs but nothing that helps me gleam a reason for the slow increase in glucose… I use a DexCom as well as finger sticking 3-7 times a day due to my frustration!

I am looking for input from others especially T2D that I am sure have had similar issues. There may be some medical issue or test that I may need to revisit or rethink. I am guessing the drugs and issues of T2D take some time to resolve out of my system. I plan on not panicking and KCKO … it is the Doctor!

The doctor works for you. You are the ultimate boss. Keep that in mind.
It does take some time for thinks to come down. Healing is also a process.
Something that surprised me was how much toxins on my hands would raise my readings if I didn’t wash my hand before the test.
You might list a couple days meals for us to see if there is something you might be missing and what your eating schedule (including snacking) is like. If you are not allowing the insulin production to stop, that could be a problem.

I accidentally deleted my previous post. Your fasting blood glucose is pretty high, too high to be just dawn phenomenon, IMHO. I would not take this lightly. Not everyone can stop all their meds and have their BG stay within a normal range right off the bat. Honestly, I think you SHOULD discuss this with your doctor or consider restarting at least one of your meds for a bit.
