Increased bruising

Has anyone experienced increased bruising on this WOE? I have always been an easy bruiser, but now I seem to be covered in bruises constantly. Maybe it’s the increased energy that causes my clumsy ass to move around more and bump into more things. I’ve had a CBC and my platelets are fine. Not on any blood thinners.

Do you take fish oil by chance? That also acts as a blood thinner, so it could lead to increased bruising.

No. I do not.

For supplements I take a women’s multi, Vit D, Magnesium, Vit E, and CoQ10.

I noticed this too for several months but then went away. I still bruise as easily as I did prior to keto but they heal faster now

Jules went through a few weeks where she was noticing more bruises than usual (she bruises easy at the best of times). Not sure what was causing that, although we were eating a lot of Native spinach around that time, so maybe Vitamin K was a factor. She doesn’t take fish oil. I do and I rarely bruise. So this is one strange symptom that I am yet to find a satisfactory explanation for.

Have you taken any aspirin lately? Or things that might contain it?

I experienced some bruising when I first introduced more flaxseed into my diet. I cut it down and it went away. Chia can have the same effect. There’s plenty of foods it could be. Check out this list.

Nope, no aspirin.

I bruise easily when I’m on keto. Last time my wrist vein just snapped when I waved rapidly! I did some research and I found this:

This is serious and can be preaty dengerous, especialy for guys like me who do combat sports.

I have used the search function to find this topic of increased bruising. I am four months into keto, lost some kegs and generally happy with my progress. But the bruising that I have is quite marked. I can’t work out whether I just don’t have as much sub q fat to buffer the bumps or whether I should be concerned

Wow, read that list- i usually eat something from atleast 3/5 of those groups daily if not more. I more or less actually get small cuts though, especially my knuckles. I’m assuming it’s for the same reason. I haven’t been eating thst stuff as much these past 2 weeks and I’ve noticed a difference.
