Increase of afib after 1 month on keto diet

(Raymond Kennedy) #1

I have noticed an increase of afib about a month into the keto diet. Has anyone else had the same thing happen to them.

Yes! But it just happens to me sometimes so I haven’t really attributed it to this way of eating. Curious to hear what others have to say.

Be sure to supplement electrolyte minerals, in particular magnesium. at the minimum 400mg of elemental magnesium per day, you can divide it up 200mg morning and night.

Not a doctor so standard disclaimer.
I have afib and when I first started keto I had this problem in the early stage of adaption. Researching and advice from this great community suggested that my electrolytes were out of balance. After some trial and error, I got things to settle down and found a proper level of supplementing that calmed the fluctuations. Time has since seemed to stabilize this even more and the problem is gradually coming less of an issue. This is just a personal experience so keep that in mind.
Hope this helps. :ok_hand:
