In need of encouragement

Iv been on keto since April and I have cheated before but no longer than about 2 or 3 days. Well Sunday I cheated and I have been cheating since… it’s now Friday and I’m getting back on keto today hoping that by Monday my head won’t hurt and I won’t be foggy I’m just sad I guess even though it’s my own fault because my weight was 142.6 as of Sunday and now it’s 146.6 as of today (Friday):scream_cat: I’m assuming it’s water weight but still seeing it makes me sad. My goal weight is 140 I am so close. Any tips or words of encouragement to get me to go back down quicker?! Usually it takes me a week or 2 to lose water weight Iv Gained from my past experience when cheating. Also this time I consumed a lot of carbs from alcohol where as before it was mostly food carbs - not sure if that matters in regards to getting back on keto and adaptation again.

So make a different decision.

Decide to stay on your current path, or choose a different path.

Hi - I know, this is a tough time of year to stay on track. You could just go back to super-strict keto, along with time-restricted eating, or you could choose to fast. You’ve been doing keto long enough that it shouldn’t take you too long to get back on track. If you have any junk in the house that you can get rid of, do so. Keep us posted!

Speed is not the answer, just get back to the basics of Keto which you know. You’ll be back to where you were soon enough. Use how bad you feel to motivate you to stay on course. Keep Calm and Keto On as they say! Its not a total train wreck and there’s always tomorrow to improve on what you didn’t achieve today.

I think that this time of the year is hard, as there is a lot of temptation. Megan Ramos suggested a strategy on an Obesity Code podcast where you either eat before you go out, or you try and eat protein, veg fat and maybe a little of whatever non-keto thing - kind of buffer it.
I can tend to do a slide into well - I’ve had one lol, I’m out of Ketosis now, pass the caramel popcorn please, and a beer, oh, is that chocolate?..
And perhaps an analogy of “If you spilt a bit of water on the bench, would you pour out the whole bottle” sort of thing, would be a better approach.
If all that fails, ask yourself which way of eating you feel best on?
