I'm not sure you understand just how happy I am

I swam often in my childhood. From as young as I can remember. Like a fish. Across lakes up north, in every pool, at every opportunity. I swam on my high school swim team. 50 yard freestyle was my thing. That’s like a sprint.
I belong to a lovely gym now. I was fortunate to be given a corporate membership by a neighbor. $30 a month is always affordable. Full access. The pool is surrounded on three sides by floor to ceiling glass windows. The light that filters in is beautiful. I swim backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle. It is quiet, meditative. I’m working up to 2000 yards twice per week. I already lift at this fitness center twice per week and am now venturing into free weights. Using the free weight leg press now and easily lifting 450. I foresee breaking 500 very soon. I’m hella strong. I’m being trained for deadlifts atm. I am extremely excited to find out what I am capable of there.
Note: I do zero of this physical training for weight loss. (or “calorie burning”. Lol! FUCK calories!) I do it because I love how it makes me FEEL. I enjoy building STRENGTH. I love how it SHAPES my body.
…and I do it all, 100% faithful to the ketogenic diet 100% of the time, fasted 14-18 hours.

I’m going to guess that it this is ‘Anything you put your damn mind to’

Deadlifts are my favorite. You will be a beast!

no shit, right? I am very excited about the prospect of very likely amazing ability.

Happy for you!!! Deadlifts are some of my favorite exercises too. I used to do them at least 2-3 times a week. But, tore my hamstring at the insertion point into my butt. Bummer… it’s never really healed and I can’t go as heavy as I used to without tons of pain. I was up to about 145 lbs DL (heavy for me).

Keep at it Brenda!! Happy for everyone that finds weights. I love weight lifting. The squat and DL are some of the best exercises for shaping!!!

Yep.
Not judging what happened to you, I can say I am going into this super slow, learning and practicing proper form and having the trainer spot me until I get it right.
Then and only then will I experiment to see my capabilities, as in, just how much I can actually lift.
It’ll be awhile. I want to do this correctly.
Very excited to find out.

Hi Brenda

I think I understand just how happy you are.
The last few months I have found myself feeling an almost zen like contentment with my life and my self.
I feel so well. I feel strong and fit.
I go to bed good tired from having had busy, satisfying days that wear me out in a good way and I sleep.
I wake before my alarm and I don’t feel exhausted, I feel ready to go and play with my dog.
My bike calls to me from my bed when I wake up on a saturday morning.
And sunday.
I don’t feel like I can’t cope with life, like I used to.
I don’t feel overwhelmed.
I don’t worry about showing my thighs in public when I’m out cycling because although they still wobble a bit, fuck anybody who judges me.
I feel well.
It’s a gift.

It is a gift. Such a miracle one I try to share it, whenever I can.
