I'm gaining weight!

#1

Hello everybody, after a great start where in a month I lost 11 pounds, in the last week I find myself on the scale puzzled and confused. I’m gaining weight. I’m staying religiously under 20 great. a day of carbs, eating my bacon, salmon, pork roast, soer cream…I don’t understand…maybe I don’t drink enough. 1/2 gallon a day between water, tea, coffee…I know you told me calories don’t count but I don’t feel that hungry and I eat between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. I work 3 days a week as a baker, I move but I don’t go to the gym. What’s wrong?? I’m 53, woman, 5’5, now 182 pounds( sigh!).

Weight loss isn’t linear, it fluctuates, just keep calm & keto on.

Water weight can fluctuate 1-3 pounds on any given day and I doubt it’s fat that you are gaining if you are restricting carbs . Our gains are often measured over months or years so it’s not really fair to measure our losses over 7 days.

I would think it’s water weight. Our weight fluctuates daily anywhere up to 5 lbs. Are you constipated by any chance? Sometimes that will do it if you’re backed up. Are you getting enough fiber?

Best wishes. It can be a struggle for women your age…My wife had to get a handle on her blood markers, and get her thyroid under control, before she really lost significant weight.

But, I’m confident you’ll figure it out.
