I'm back, again..long update post

Hello old friends! I can’t believe last time I was active on here was Oct 2020, man life has changed a lot since then! For those who remember me I am 47 and 5 ft 4, I need support and guidance so I am back to get that because you guys rock, seriously.

So life and general updates. I lost 40 pounds doing keto in 2019 and maintained it 1 year then 2020 happened. My adult step daughter moved back in with us, she has a neurological condition that keeps her from driving or working and is now on disability. My autistic son is 17 and will be graduating next May 2023 and we are working on a post high school plan for his care. I started my telehealth counseling practice in 2020 and it is doing great and thriving!

I found out I have Hashimotos and started a gluten free diet after trying Noom to lose weight since the time I fell way off the keto wagon. There are lots of GF yummy things out there and I regained some weight again. Noom made me feel guilty for all of the things I loved to eat on keto so that was a no go for me.

Biggest life change was I had bone on bone arthritis in my left ankle from an accident 30 years ago. I decided to bite the bullet and get a total ankle replacement in Nov 21 and I am still recovering from that surgery. I am attending PT 2x a week and making great steady progress. I am lifting weights 3x a week and working our in exercise bike 5x a week too.

I decided to give keto a try again at this phase of my life to get control over my eating and lose the weight again once and for all. I restarted a little over a month ago, but I wanted to reach out for support because my hubby is a fair weather keto guy and my son and daughter don’t do keto. I am kind of on my own most times of the day except dinner, we keep those keto friendly.

Anyway sorry that was so long, but I am glad to be back and I look forward to reaching my goals again restarting my keto lifestyle with everyone’s support.

Started keto 2019 at 192 pounds
Got down to 150 in 2019, off 1 year
Regained up to 188 in 2020/21
Currently 180

Thanks for taking time to read!!

Hi Jill!

Welcome back; good to see you!

I am glad you are making progress after your knee replacement. Hopefully, you will be feeling right as rain by summer.

The good thing is, you know how to do this and were successful in the past. Eat well and be well, my friend! :hugs:
