If you lost a lot of weight, did your shoe size change?

I realize this sounds like the most idiotic question ever.

My ring size has already decreased. Not quite to where I want it to wear some 25 year old rings but still quite a bit.

As far as I can tell my shoe size has not changed. In my case my shoe size went up with weight gain and pregnancies. Am wondering if there is any possibility of it decreasing. The reason I ask is I bought a lot of shoes this summer (since I could not buy clothes, already returned some jackets I bought in July because they were too big! Yay!) I did not get to wear all of them so I could return them still. If there is no possibility of my shoe size decreasing then I would keep them

Your foot length probably won’t change, but the width might. With less weight, not only is your foot, well, not as fat, but your reduced body weight causes less spread of your foot.

Due to arthritis in my toes, I started wearing sandals year round last year. With keto, my arthritis is worlds better, but my toes got used to being free, so I wear sandals all the time still. And the pair I got before starting keto is definitely looser now. The footbed bordered on being too narrow when I got them, and now it’s fine, plus I had to tighten the straps.

Yep. Not necessarily the length though. I have shoes that were too tight over the top that fit looser after Keto. Also, the other way around with a pair that are a half size too large but I could get away with them with thicker socks. I just put them on the other day though and was actually thinking I’m not so sure the heavy sock trick is going to work this winter as they’re slipping quite a bit.

Nope! Not one stupid inch less here, and I’m down 70 lbs total and at goal!
After pregnancy 30 years ago, praying for bigger boobs, but only got bigger feet …size 10! Yikes! Try finding sexy heels in that size! Then to top it off, had to have 2 surgeries on the left foot over the years, so that foot is now a size 11, and said adult child calls it my Franken-foot!
And losing weight, what do you think shrunk? You guessed it: my bra size!
Such is life.

Before I started keto in January this year, I could hardly get my wedding ring off, and then couldn’t get it back on again.

Nowadays it mostly slips on and off reasonably easily (but is not too loose). But some days - or parts of days - it feels tighter again. Some kind of diurnal change, presumably to do with fluids.

Yes, I can’t wear half my shoes, they slip off my feet and the last new shoes I bought were a 1/2 size down.

My rings come off very easy and somedays, I use some tape on the back of them to keep from them falling off. Once I am very stablized, I will get them resized. I’ve been at goal or below since end of April, so will wait a few more months before getting that done.
