If you could request any lab work from your Dr. what would you request?

(Niamh) #1

I was curious, as I am getting a blood draw at the end of February and will be four months into OMAD/KETO at that time. My Dr seems fine ordering what I request, and if not I’m willing to investigate and see about paying on my own for others.

What is the Keto group educated to ask for?

This is what I ask for when I am there, most is done automatically
Chem panel
Glucose
Cholesterol
Triglycerides
HDL
LDL
ratio which at times cant be calculated
A1C
TSH
Ca-125 (did this once)
Ferritin (did this twice as once it was very low, 10 years later normal)
Vit D
H & H

Thank you in advance,

I get B12 checked.

Fasting insulin
GTT
hs-CRP is one indication of inflammation.

If you can get an oral glucose tolerance test with insulin done, say at the before, 1 hour, and 2 hour points, that would give you a great idea of your insulin resistance.

Kraft test

rbcMg

(Bob M) #7

The rbc magnesium is supposedly the most accurate test.

I’ve had my red blood cell magnesium taken. It’s been near the upper limit when I got it taken. I’m not sure about now, though.

I always ask to have my Fasting Insulin level to be checked.
