Hunter is first because we hunted as our primary source of energy (fat + protein to build).
We gathered nuts and fruits in between hunts to graze on foods when we needed to survive due to low body fat levels. It also helped during long periods of fasting, or tough winters where being able to hunt was limited as it was high risk going out in weather conditions where you might die.
Carbs are not for normal consumption. They are a mechanism for storage instruction to be used wisely when required. The average person nowadays, due to our access to meat at the local butchers, or the supermarket, does not need to do this, or prepare for cold harsh winters.
People point out that tribes in parts of the world are vegetarian or vegan eating lots of fruits. True, but they’re also eating on an irregular basis in between fasts and need to store whatever they can as they tend to have low body fat percentages, and are closer to the risk of actual starvation.
Look at tribes that eat high carbs but also frequent eaters due to westernization - they are fat and have some of the highest obesity rates in the world like the Samoans and Fijians.
Simply put, carbs are grazing foods to keep us ticking over. They are not what we should be eating regularly.
