So I’ve been keto for over a month and decided to try intermittent fasting the last few days. This is what I’ve experienced and I’m just wondering if it’s normal or if I’m trying to do intermittent fasting too soon?
Headaches
Brain fog
Generalized weakness
Dizziness
I wake up at 515 and usually start feeling like this by 930.
Will my symptoms go away eventually? Or is this my body trying to tell me not to do IF just yet
IF symptoms is this normal?
Good rule of thumb: If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.
You’ll know when its a good time to start IF because it will feel like a totally natural transition.
For me personally, my body naturally settled into a 16:8 around 3 months in. I just wasn’t hungry so I didn’t eat. Over time I tightened that down to a 20:4… I’m 9.5 months in, -60lbs, and now I do 4 day fasts in addition to my 20:4 on feeding days. It takes time for your body to adjust and settle into a schedule. You also want to change up your schedule to keep your body guessing and working hard. My advice would be to put off IF for a little bit longer. Try again in a few weeks to see if it gets easier.
I’ve never experienced HPV, so I can’t speak to that, but I’ve read it can help.
Seems you are not fully fat adapted. Go with what @Luckymisslucy says. If it does not feel right don’t do it.
I would stick to 3 meals a day, and no snacking between, and make sure you are drinking enough water and electrolytes. You might want to try and do 12:12 -12 hours of no eating from supper until breakfast, and do that for a while, before you move into a longer fasting period =).
